I am really mad at UPS right now. Last Monday I mailed two packages to the Northwest (one to Seattle and one to Portland). I paid for 2nd-Day Air- which was an arm and a leg. The packages were supposed to arrive on the 24th. Every day I get an email from UPS saying the weather conditions in those areas have prohibited delivery of my packages:

The Google weather report for the area says "34 degrees. mostly cloudy". Doesnt sound like a blizzard to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The US post office and Fed Ex would have deilvered by now I am sure! Next Christmas UPS will definitely not get my $400. I will buy the plane tickets and hand deliver the gifts. Or walk. I am sure I could get there faster on foot!

That is terrible! Can you get a refund or anything?

An arm and a leg ???
It will seem like a 2nd Christmas to the receivers- A new year's present!
They absolutely should not be able to just take your money like this whether or not it's weather related. They should at least offer you and everyone else credit! On the other hand, I would personally like you to fly up and "hand deliver" stuff. The packages were worth it, however. Beautiful and creative to say the least. Mary Ann
Cuyler,
Long time no see (BYU MBA '05). I feel your pain, but since I live in Portand and was home for the 40-year storms of Christmas '08, I have to stand up at least a little for UPS. I agree that they should probably refund some of the money, but NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING moved around here for about a week.
Portland can't handle 3" of snow, and we got over 16" in the lower elevations and over 2' in other areas. I swear the city only has about 3 snow plows, so everyone just stayed home (I snowshoed to the store!)
Sorry your stuff didn't get there on time, but Mother Nature must have been really mad that you procrastinated sending your Christmas gifts! :)
