Since we are out here on vacation in the Northwest- we took a day and drove down to Portland (sans children) and dropped in on my little brother Jake. His house is really nice. Cute, clean, interesteing, welcoming, sweet neighbors, impressive vegetable garden, etc. It was fun to see where he lives his life. We grabbed some terrific sandwiches from East Side Deli and took them over the river to the Rose Garden. We toured around that and found a few of our favorite smelling roses. Some were actually gross. But some were heavenly. Ate our picnic lunch and headed south of Portland to lay our eyes on the beautiul Portland LDS Temple. Then returned home to visit on the comfy couches on his big front poarch. Jake took off to work at 4 and Mary chauferred us to the local Trader Joe's. *hallelujah*
East Side Deli- delicious!

Rose Garden in Rose City

We had a beautiful day. Could even see Mt. Hood in the distance.

The Portland Temple is pretty. This is where my friends Allison & Jason got sealed so many years ago...

On the way out of town we had to hit the TJs and get some supplies to take back to Provo- some Tikki Masala Simmer sauce, cocoa covered almonds, etc. etc.
Anyway- Jake & Mary are doing so well. So happy. It was such a treat to see them.
